"The Beeches at Beechcliff Lodge"

Around 5pm, I stood in the parking area of the Beechcliff Lodge that would be my home for the next 21 days. I looked around at the forest that was allowed to reclaim the land surrounding the lodge, thanks to the mission of the Highlands Nature Sanctuary. Their mission is to buy up enough land to maintain a healthy forest, filled with diversity of plants, animals, insects and fungi. It is a restorative place, filled with birdsong and plants and critters that most might not see in a lifetime.
