"French Bubble Dress"

Painted on the last day of my artist residency in Dinan, Brittany, France. I'd wanted to do some dresses, but the streets were so narrow and crowded that it was impossible to set up and easel and paint, for everyone's safety. In the waning days of my month in Dinan, I walked some streets that I hadn't before, and voila, I found a great little shop. I met the owner/designer of all the clothing in the shop. She specialized in a"bubble skirt". I was taken by the shapes and the handmade necklaces of cloth.
