Accepted into the Canton Museum of Art Exhition: "Ohio Small Towns: select paintings by Members of the Ohio Plein Air Society"

Ohio Plein Air Society was painting for an Exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art. Our theme was "Small Town Ohio". Each year, I plan a paintout at Lynd's Fruit Farm in Licking Co., but this year I decided to plan a 2-day paintout in the Village of Pataskala. I've lived 2 miles outside the village for 30 years, but I'd never seen all the streets in the Village. WOW! What treasures were to be found. This building, however, I had painted when the business first opened up. Heat, and a slice of shade were the determining factors for me to try this again, plus the angles of the old mill/train depot at the back of the dog washing business. I love the shadow of the awning, and just the sheer fun factor of the place. My goal from the start was to have that white singing. Painted on a Blick Panel, which has a rather rough weave canvas, I was able activate the surface with a lots of paint! What fun this was to paint!
