"Happy Day II"

I painted this same boat the first time I took part in the Door County Plein Air Festival. It was sitting in the water that year. In 2011, it was pulled out of the water, and had been sitting there long enough for the grasses to grow up around it. I got a thrill to see it sitting there in the harbor in Fish Creek. I was also happy to have the opportunity to paint alongside Neil Sherman, who was prominantly featuring Happy Day in his painting.
