"Two Plums on a Plate"

I always think of Manet's paintings of fruit when I see plums that are still covered with the easily removed dusty-white outer coating on their skins. I placed the plums on a celadon plate that my sister purchased for me in Philadelphia's Chinatown. The small bright green fish chopstick holder added a brilliant touch of color that beguiled me.
